Anonymous asked: Hello! Lately I've been thinking to start riding my bike more to places, and maybe even to further places rather than drive my car. Not only because I don't want to contribute to pollution or harming the environment, but also because gas prices are getting pretty ridiculously high. I was wondering two things. 1) What's the furthest you've road your bike? and 2) What can I do to prevent my bike being stolen? Because even people who use locks, someone their bikes still get stolen

Hello :) Let me say that it’s awesome that you’ve been considering commuting by bike, go you! It is awesome if you are capable.

The furthest I’ve probably gone by bike so far has been 15 straight hill filled miles in Milwaukee From the Eastside to the Northwest side. It was definitely fun though. That was single speed though so I did a lot of downhill cruising.

I would suggest getting your bike insured if possible or using multiple locks. The best method for locking that worked for me was locking the frame to the tire. If you have a quick release wheel you should take it with you if it’s not inconvenient for you.
